Do you use facebook to keep up with what your friends are doing? Why not share your LogYourRun exercise activities with your friends? The LogYourRun facebook app allows you to share your exercise events with your facebook friends. You have the option to either share your full LogYourRun log or to share only exercise activities that you select. In addition you can share with your friends if you are training for a specific event as well as find other people that are training for the same even as you.
We are happy to announce that we have completely re-written the facebook application and the new version should work much better with the new version of facebook. To improve the integration of the facebook application with LogYourRun we have added the option to automatically show your LogYourRun activities on your facebook profile. This feature is set in the settings page of the application and is turned off by default.
If you prefer to keep your LogYourRun log private you can elect to only show events that you choose on your facebook profile. To enable this we continue to use the separate database for the facebook only entries. These are text entries that can be edited manually.
On facebook you can now also enter data into your LogYourRun running log. The enter data page is not as extensive as the LogYourRun page but using the facebook enter data page will automatically post your data on your running log. To use this feature you will have to have a LogYourRun account.
If you want to continue to use the LogYourRun enter data page you will still be able to post the activities once they have been entered in the database. On the page that shows the details of the activity you will see a link to upload the data to your facebook profile. You will also be able to fetch your latest LogYourRun activity from your LogYourRun log using the facebook Publisher. The Publisher is found on the top of the profile page - the publisher is normally set to publish updates on your status - but if you allow the LogYourRun Publisher you should see an additional publisher for LogYourRun as in the picture below. Clicking the publisher will find your latest entry and allow you to easily publish it on your profile.
You will also notice that the new layout will allow you to have custom boxes. If you allow this on your profile clicking on the LogYourRun box will show a list of your activities.
